11:12pm. Thursday June 18. Raining pretty good and so it's awfully nice to be under a roof tonight. It's fun to look at the www.iboattrack.com site and see all the boats in Sippican (Marion) Harbor ready to make the trek toward the rock tomorrow. Boat tracking brings an extra little magic to this event IMHO. My favorite celestial navigation program is an old DOS program that I think used to be included free with a Davis sextant. I think by now it's in the public domain, but I'm not sure. I'll attach the file. It's pretty small.

PS in the post-mortem, I should not have been in my boxer shorts on deck, I should have clipped in before grappling the broken boom (the sheet had parted in 30+ knots), and clearly I am largely to blame for my falling overboard in the first place....
